Keane named NAHL’s East Division Star of the Week. Bellant honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending December 17th and Rebels netminder Ryan Keane was named the East Division’s star of the week while teammate Andrew Bellant was selected as honorable mention.

Keane played in both games in the Rebels weekend sweep over the Johnstown Tomahawks. He had a 1.00 goals against average and a .945 save percentage. “Ryan has played well all year” stated Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. “This weekend he made some big stops at key times” concluded Coombs.

Keane is ranked fourth in the league on the season with a 1.72 goals against average and ninth in save percentage with .926. He has one shutout.

This is the fourth time this season the native from Coppell, TX received recognition from the league. He was the second star of the week for week ending October 15; he was goalie of the month for October, and he was honorable mention for goalie of the month in November.

Bellant had one point over the weekend in the low scoring contests, but it was a big one: the game winning goal in overtime in Saturday night’s win.

The recently announced Michigan Tech commit is tied for second on the team in total points with twenty (8 goals and 12 assists). He also has three game winning goals.

This is the second time this season the Linden, MI native has received recognition from the league this season. He was honorable mention for week ending October 8.
