Demetri Menegos, D.O., F.A.O.A.S.M. – Head Team Physician

Dr. Menegos is entering his third season with the Philadelphia Rebels.  He is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship with the official healthcare provider of the New York Jets, Atlantic Health at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ.  During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Menegos gained valuable experience covering college level sports teams for Seton Hall University, Kean University, Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Menegos is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.  He is an active member and lecturer for the European College of Sports and Exercise Physicians, where he has lectured on Concussion in Sport and Regenerative Injection Techniques in Orthopedics.  He has published original research and is the owner of a patent on Megnify, a sports rehydration and strength enhancing beverage.  He has served as the Head Sports Medicine Physician for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League, having been named to the 2013 AFL Sports Medicine Staff of the Year and was part of the 2016 Arena Bowl Championship team. He has served as a Sports Medicine Physician for WWE Wrestling, Penn Relays, the Mexican World Cup Soccer Team and Collegiate Rugby Championships.  In addition, he serves as a Sports Medicine Physician for the Arena Football League, The Haverford School and Junior Lone Star FC of the National Premier Soccer League.

David Rubenstein, MD – Head of Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Dr. Rubestein is a nationally-recognized sports medicine surgeon specializing in shoulder instability, rotator cuff repair and arthroscopic knee surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

He is currently the Director of Sports Medicine at Lankenau Hospital, associate team physician of the Philadelphia Phillies, as well as the head team physician for the Philadelphia Soul Arena football team and Philadelphia Freedom professional tennis team. He also serves as the sports medicine physician for Haverford School, Shipley School and Friends Central School. His sports medicine career has included team coverage for many major professional sports including being the Orthopedic Consultant for the Philadelphia 76ers Basketball Team, Head Physician for the Philadelphia Passion Football team of the LFL, Team Physician for the Philadelphia Wings NLL Lacrosse and Head Physician at the ESPN X-Games in 2001. He has been recognized as a “Top Doc” by Main Line Today.

He sees patients with a wide-range of sports-related injuries with a focus on shoulder and knee injuries. He is currently conducting research studies looking at shoulder instability and frozen shoulder conditions.

Sidney Jacoby, MD – Orthopedic Surgeon, Hand Specialist

Dr. Jacoby received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Medical Doctor degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.  He then completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Thomas Jefferson University with additional Fellowship training in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery with the Philadelphia and Hand Center, also at Thomas Jefferson University.

Dr. Jacoby is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with additional subspecialty certification in Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Jacoby currently holds several appointments including: Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Chief of Hand Surgery at Phoenixville Hospital (PA), and Medical Director of the Limerick Surgery Center, Outpatient Division at Phoenixville Hospital.

Dr. Jacoby serves as Director of Clinical Research at the Hand Rehabilitation Foundation, Associate Program Director of the Thomas Jefferson University Hand Surgery Fellowship, sits on the Admissions Committees for the Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at TJU and the Hand Surgery Fellowship Program at TJU.  He is an instructor in Upper Extremity Anatomy at Jefferson Medical College, and serves on numerous educational and administrative committees, both at Thomas Jefferson University and Phoenixville Hospital.

In addition to his extensive local appointments, Dr. Jacoby is very active on a national scale as he sits on numerous steering, communication, editorial and advisory committees for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), American Association of Hand Surgery (AAHS), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the Journal of Hand Surgery.

Howard Edelman DDS

Dr. Howard Edelman DDSDr. Edelman is a general and restorative dentist who has been in private practice in the Philadelphia area since 1981. He is a member of the National Medical Network for the United States Olympic Committee and serves as a team dentist for our Olympic Athletes. He served for many years as the team dentist for the Philadelphia Kixx Soccer Team of the Major Indoor Soccer League and was also the team dentist for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League. Dr Edelman has been named “Top Dentist” by Philadelphia Magazine.

Dr. Edelman is a lifelong resident of the Philadelphia area, graduating from Central High School (231), Temple University, and Temple University Dental School (1981). He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and both Philadelphia and Montgomery-Bucks Dental Societies. He is also a member of The Academy for Sports Dentistry, a group dedicated to protecting and caring for athletes at all levels of competition.

Dr. Edelman resides in Maple Glen, PA with his wife of 35+ years, Vicki. They have 2 adult daughters, Randi who is the public relations manager for Neiman Marcus and Allison Friedman and husband Larry who are dedicated to raising our first grandson Mason Parker.

Adam Aquilino, DC Team Chiropractor

Dr. Aquilino attended and graduated from Life University in 2004 as the Valedictorian of his graduating class. He is one of the few Chiropractors in the area who is certified by the Council on Extremity Adjusting as a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioners (C.C.E.P).

Dr. Aquilino owns and operates Aquilino Chiropractic (www.aquilinochrio.com) in Voorhees, NJ and has been in private practice since 2005. His practice consists of providing chiropractic care to families, and athletes of all levels. The main focus of his practice is Structural Correction of the spine because we know that optimal Structure is necessary in order to achieve optimal performance. He also has spent the past six seasons as the team chiropractor for the Philadelphia Soul.

Dr. Aquilino resides in Blackwood, NJ with his wife Christine and his 3 children, Adam, Nicholas, and Mia. When he is not practicing Chiropractic, you will usually find him at his kid’s travel sporting events. He also enjoys an occasional round of golf when time permits.

Bonnie McKinley, DO, Team Physician

Dr. McKinley DO, a native of Bucks County, PA, is board certified in Family Medicine and CAQ certified in Sports Medicine. She attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA and completed Family Medicine training through Aria Health in Langhorne, PA. She then went on to specialty training in sports medicine and completed a fellowship through Atlantic Health System.

Dr. McKinley has held positions at Adena Bone and Joint Center as well as Lancaster Regional Medical Center, treating a variety of musculoskeletal ailments and has been team physician for both high school and collegiate level athletes. Most recently, she was the team physician for Millersville University. In addition, she is concussion wise™ certified.

Dr. McKinley continues to treat patients’ in her private practice which focuses on Non-Surgical treatments for musculoskeletal injuries, regenerative medicine and wellness. In her spare time, she enjoys distance running and spending time with her children.

David E. Samuel, DPM, FACFAS, Team Podiatrist

Dr. Samuel completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1986 and received his medical degree from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, in 1990. He then completed his surgical residency in foot and ankle surgery, with the Crozer Keystone Health System in 1992. Dr. Samuel is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.

He founded Foot & Ankle Specialists of Delaware County, LLC., in 1994, and has private offices in the Springfield Hospital Healthplex, Delaware County and in Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, PA. His practice includes family and general foot and ankle care, elective surgical reconstruction of the foot and ankle, trauma, foot and ankle sports injuries, and also does an extensive amount of diabetic wound care and limb salvage. He is on the surgical staff of the Crozer Keystone Health System and the Mainline Health System hospitals.

As an educator and lecturer, he works with training residents of the Crozer Keystone Health System’s Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program, as well as being a Clinical Instructor with the Crozer Keystone Health Systems, Dept. of Family Medicine. He is the Director, of the Podiatric Advisory Board, with the Institute for Musculoskeletal Science & Education, in Wayne, PA. He was the team foot and ankle specialist for the Philadelphia Soul, of the Arena Football League from 2004 through the 2016 season, and works regularly with athletes from the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, as well as every day athletes of all ages. He has served on both the Boston and New York Marathon Medical Teams and has spent time helping athletes who participate in the Special Olympics.

Dr. Samuel has been named as one of the area’s Top Docs and Surgeons, by The Main Line Today magazine from 2011-2016 and the Delaware County Times, Top Docs, 2015. When not working, he resides in West Chester, PA with his three sons and enjoys playing golf, fishing, and is an avid sports fan.
