Titans and Rebels play mid-week game tonight at the Class of ’23 Arena

The New Jersey Titans visit the Class of 1923 Arena tonight to take on the Philadelphia Rebels for their third consecutive game in six days. The puck drops at 7:05pm.

The history between the two teams has always been close. The first two games in the season is no different with each team winning a game and both scoring five goals.  The Titans won the first game this past Friday night by a score of 4 – 2 and the Rebels came back to win 3 – 1 in Sunday’s contest. So far, the Rebels are 0 for 9 on the power play while the Titans are 3 for 7 (43%). Defenseman Jordin Holmes has three points (1 goal and 2 assists) in both games and Jensen Zerban has two points (both goals). Nick Boyagian has three points against the Rebels so far (1 goal and 2 assists) and Todd Goehring has two points (1 goal and 1 assist). Each team has a 2.50 goals against average. The Rebels have a .924 save percentage while the Titans have a .910 save percentage.

The Titans enter tonight’s game in fourth place in the East Division with a 10-6-1-1 record for 22 points, seven behind division leader Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, although the Titans have played two games less than WBS.  The Titans have a 3 – 2 record during their past five games. The Rebels come into tonight’s game in third place in the East Division with a 13 – 3 record for 26 points, three behind the Knights but the Rebels have four games in hand. The Rebels are 2 – 3 during their past five games, and they are coming off of a 3 – 1 home victory over the Titans this past Sunday.

Andrew Bellant’s twelve points (5 goals and 7 assists) leads the team. Diarmad DiMurro’s (3 goals and 8 assists) and Jensen Zerban’s (6 goals and 5 assists) each have eleven points respectively. Zerban leads the team in goals with six. He also has the most game winning goals on the team with three. Bellant leads the team in penalty minutes with 44 while DiMurro has the best +/- with a +9.

The Rebels have scored 52 goals in sixteen games (ninth best in the league) while they have allowed only 29 (least amount in the league). The Rebels are second in the league on the power play have converted on 27.3% of the chances with the extra attacker while they are ranked seventh in the league on the penalty kill having prevented the opposition from scoring 84.9% of the time.
